x-7y=-22
x=-22+7y
Now substitute this into the other eq. for x;
5(-22+7y)+2y=1
-110+35y+2y=1
-110+37y=1
37y=1+110
37Y=111
Y=3
Now that we know y, we can solve for x;
x-7(3)=-22
x-21=-22
x=-1
So we have;
x=-1,y=3
