Question 233578: the formula V=1/3lwh gives the volume (V) of a rectangular pyramid with length (l), width (w) and height (h)
solve for w
answer w=3v/lh

how did she get that??

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
formulas for volumes of a pyramid are attached here

her answer is:

w=3v/lh

original equation is:

v=1/3lwh

this formula really looks like:

v = (1/3) * l * w * h

that would be equivalent to:

v = (l * w * h)/3

multiply both sides of the equation by 3 to get:

3*v = l * w * h

divide both sides by l * h to get:

3 * v/ (l * h) = w

this is equivalent to:

w = 3*v/l*h which is also equivalent to:

w = 3v/lh
