Question 191421: I need to come up with 2 equations that will have -10 as one answer and 12 as the other answer.
I start out with ax + by = c (c will be the answer -10 for one problem and 12 for the second problem.)
Help, I have no skill in algebra, my first course in over 20 years and it is very scary!!! thanks so much for the help.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
So you want to come up with 2 Line Eqns, which you are on the right track.
Let's start with the basis, Ax + By = C.
With
---> x + y = -10 (Line 1)
Also, with
---> x + y =12 (Line 2)
In (Line 1 ) we Let Fy=0:

, X-Intercept
Let Fx=0:
, Y-Intercept
We see the Line 1 in graph:
---> Line 1 with X & Y Intercepts
In Line 2, we do the same thing,
Let Fy=0:

, X-Intercept
Let Fx=0:

, Y-Intercept
We see graph,
----> Line 2 with X & Y intercepts
*In conclusion, -10 & 12 are the intercepts with A=1 & B=1
Combining Line 1 and Line 2 in the graph:
---> ;
Thank you,
