SOLUTION: 4^1-x = 8 1-x is all a power I think I need to make 8 a 4 somehow and then 1-x= whatever I do to 8 to make it 4. I am not sure how to do this though.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
4%5E%281-x%29=8

%282%5E2%29%5E%281-x%29=2%5E3

2%5E%282%281-x%29%29=2%5E3

Since the bases are equal, the exponents are equal.

2%281-x%29=3

2-2x=3

-2x=3-2

-2x=1

x=1%2F%28-2%29

x=-1%2F2

So the solution is x=-1%2F2
