You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Here's how I would approach it.
There are obviously 12 months in a year.
The first $900 dollars is the deposit and a month rent.
So, subtract 900 from 6950.

You should get 6050.
Since Roberto paid $900 for the first month, he paid $6050 for 11 months with his rent rate.
To find out how much money he paid per month, we would use division.
%246050%2F11=%24550

$550 is the monthly rate, and to find out how much the deposit is, use 900 and subtract 550.
You would then get $350 as the first deposit.
Hope this helps!

let "x" equal the monthly rent. $900 dollars is the deposit. therefore, 11x (12 months in a year but the first month is included in the 900) + 900 (for the deposit and the first month) = 6950. the equation would be 11x + 900 = 6950. you would isolate the variable, by getting it on one side by itself. first, subtract 900 from both sides. you get 6050. your equation should now read 11x = 6050. divide both sides by 11 to get what x equals. this is the monthly rent. you get 550. you would then subtract 550 from 900 because that is what the monthly rent is. you would get 350. the deposit was 350 and the rent per month waqs 550. anything that is unclear, let me know.
