You can put this solution on YOUR website!

When subtracting a larger number from a smaller number, remember the words switch and negate. That is, switch the order of the two numbers and do the subtraction as you normally would, but at the end negate the result by attaching a minus+sign.
For example, to find 10-13, you switch the order of these two numbers, giving you 13+-10, which equals 3; then negate this result to get -3. That’s why 10-13+=+-3.

so, if you have b+=+-24-29 and changing the -24 to a positive, (even I do not see why it need to be changed) then you will have b+=+24-29 which means you are subtracting 29(larger absolute value) from 24 (smaller absolute value); so, result is negative number
b+=+24-29=>b+=+-5

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
b = -24
-
29
===========
(b/29) = -24
--------
Multiply both sides by 29 to get::
b = 29*(-24)
---
b = -696
------
