That is, they have the same slope

Therefore the slope of y=expr%283%2F7%29x-12 is 3%2F7. 

The coefficient of x in y=mx%2B8 is m. 

Therefore the slope of y=mx%2B8 is m.

y=mx%2B8 is the equation of a line parallel to the line y=expr%283%2F7%29x-12.

Therefore m must be the same as 3%2F7

Answer m=3%2F7

Result:
