You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Steps:
a. Multiply 3 by the contents of the parenthesis.
b. Group like terms on either side of the equation, such as the x terms are on one side of the equation and the integers are on the other.
c. Solve for x.
.
Problem:
3%28x-3%29=4x-11
3x-%283%2A3%29=4x%2B11
3x-9=4x%2B11
Deduct 3x from both sides of equation. I chose to put the x on the right side in order to keep the variable positive. (It is also less confusing for many students)
-9=4x%2B11-3x
-9%2B11=4x-3x
2=x ...same as to say... x=2
.
Done! :)
