You can put this solution on YOUR website!
6(3x-1)-10x x=7 I am supposed to simplfy and then solve. Here's what i have so far.... 6*3x-6-10x. what do i do next?
-----------------
6(3x-1)-10x x=7
It's not clear what you meant, the ...10x x=7 part.

Either the book or the teacher should have said what's to be done here. Does it say "solve for x"?

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Solve for x:
1) 6%283x-1%29-10x+=+7 Do I have this right? or is it:
2) 6%283x-1%29-10x for x = 7?
Well, let's do them both and you pick whichever one is right!
1) Solve for x:
6%283x-1%29-10x+=+7 Apply the distributive property.
18x-6-10x+=+7 Combine the x's
8x-6+=+7 Add 6 to both sides.
8x+=+13 Finally, divide both sides by 8.
x+=+13%2F8
x+=+1.625
2) Evaluate:
6%283x-1%29-10x for x = 7 Simplify then substitute a 7 everywhere there is an x in the expression.
18x-6-10x
8x-6 x = 7, so...
8%287%29-6+=+56-6 = 50
