You can put this solution on YOUR website! x+1/x-3 is less than or equal to 5
(x+1)/(x-3)<=5
Solve the equality, as follows:
x+1=5(x-3)
x+1=5x-15
4x=16
x=4
Now check a point to the right (or left) of x=4 to
see where the inequality is satisfied.
Try x=10
You get 9/7<5
That is true.
So part of the solution is
x>=4
The asymptote is x=3.
Try a value to the left of x=3.
Try x=0
You get (0+1)/(0-3)<5
That is true.
So the interval to the left of the asymptote is also part
of the solution.
Complete Solution is (-inf,3) or [4,inf)
