You can put this solution on YOUR website!
If you multiply 20 by 5 = 100
Adding up all the average scores
22+22+16+24 = 84
Therefore Adam must score an average of 16
in his fifth attempt
100 - 84 = 16
This added to the other average scores will give
him a total of 100 which divided by 5 (Number of scores)
will give him an overall average of 20
Hope this helps:-)

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
(x1 + x2) / 2 = 22
x3 = 16
x4 = 24
(44 + 16 + 24 + x) / 5 = 20
note that x1 + x2 = 44
(44 + 16 + 24 + x) = 100
84 + x = 100
subtract 84 from both sides of =
x = 16, therefore
Adam must score a 16 in his fifth attempt to achieve an average score of 20 in all his 5 attempts.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
This is basically asking you the average, aka the "mean". The mean is when you add up all the scores and divide it by how many times Adam scored which is 5.
So first, write down Adam's scores.
22, 22, 16, 24
Now you are looking for the fifth one, so it will be like a guess and check game. However, since you said the answer is 16 I plugged that in for Adam's fifth score.
So I did, 22+22+16+24+16 = 100 because I'm looking for the average or "mean".
Now, divide 100 by 5 because Adam scored 5 attempts.
100/5 = 20
The answer for Adam's fifth attempt was 16.
