two angles are said to be supplementary angles if they add up to 180 degrees

if < A is 20 more than thrice the measure of the <B , than we have
< A=3B%2B20
then
A%2BB=+180°.............substitute A
3B%2B20%2BB=+180°
4B=+180-20°
4B=+160°
B=+40°

then
< A=3%2A40%2B20°
< A=140°
