You can put this solution on YOUR website!
2 years ago a man was 4 times as old as his son. 3 years from now the father will be 3 times as old as the son. How old is each now?
------
Equations:
f-2 = 4(s-2)
f+3 = 3(s+3)
-----------
Modify::
f = 4s - 6
f = 3s + 6
--------
Substitute and solve for "s"::
4s-6 = 3s+6
s = 12 yrs (son's age now)
-------
Solve for "f":
f = 3s+6
f = 36+6 = 42 yrs (father's age now)
------
