three years ago (boy age -3 and mom age -3) total was 45 and she was 8 times as old as her son. 45/9 ( her son age + she is 8 times his age equals 9 of his age units) equals her sons age. Her son was 5 and she was 40. Now he is 8 and she is 43. 5 + 43 equals 51, their total now day age.
