i am four times as old as my daughter, she was born when i was 39, how old am i now?

Answer by josmiceli(19441) About Me  (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website!
M = my age now
D = my daughter's age now
So, right now, M=4D
When I was 39, my daughter was born, so her age was 0
----------
When I'm 40
She's 1
----------
When I'm 41
She's 2
---------
etc,etc,etc
So, I'm adding the same number of years to each of our ages until
I'm exactly 4 times her age
In other words
%2839%2Bx%29%2Fx+=+4
39%2Bx+=+4x
3x+=+39
x+=+13
So, when I'm 39+13 and she's 13, I'm 4 times her age. Is that true?
52%2F13+=+4
Yes, I'm 52 answer
