Present age of Carmelo = c
Present age of Arwin = a


Carmelo is 12 years older than arwin.
c=a+12........(1)
One-third of carmelo's aga is equal to one-half of arwin's age
c * 1/3=a * 1/2
c/3=a/2
2c=3a...........(2)
Put the value of c from (1) to (2)
2(a+12)=3a
2a+24=3a
2a-3a=-24
-a=-24
Multiply by by -1 both sides
a=24
Put the value of a in (1)
c=24+12
c=36

Present age of Carmelo = c = 36
Present age of Arwin = a = 24
