The product of the ages of my three children is 72 and their ages sum to the same number as where I live. Also, my oldest child likes chocolate ice cream.

Here are all the possible combos and the sum of the ages on the right.
1 2 36 39
1 3 24 28
1 4 18 23
1 6 12 19
1 8 9 18
2 2 18 22
2 3 12 17
2 4 9 15
2 6 6 14
3 3 8 14
3 4 6 13
There are 2 possibilities that add to 14, and no other duplicates, so it has to be one of those. If not, then you would have known the ages.

Since he said "my oldest child", that implies that the twins (or 2 the same age) are not the oldest - the oldest must be 8. Had it been the 2 6 yr olds that like chocolate, he would have worded it differently.
So it's 3, 3 and 8.
