You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The father and son together have a total age of 36.
Son's age = x
Father's age = x + 30
Together their ages = 36.
x + x + 30 = 36
2x + 30 = 36
2x = 36 - 30
2x = 6
x = 6/2
x = 3
The son is 3 years old.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Let fathers age = f and sons age be s
Given f+s = 36 and f – s = 30
f + s = 36
f – s = 30 adding these equations we get
2f = 66 since +s and –s cancels while adding.
f = 66/2 = 33 Dividing the eqn by 2
Now plug in the value of f into equation 1 we get
33 + s = 36 subtracting 33 from both sides of this equation
s = 36 – 33 = 3
So the answer is father is 33 years and son is 3 years old
