Brother's age: x
Mary = 3 times brother = 3x
x+3x = 33
4x = 33
x = 33/4 = 8.25
And Mary = 3 times brother = 3(8.25) = 24.75 = 24 years and 9 months (1 year = 12 months and 0.75 year = 0.75*12 = 9 months)
