Renter Beware: Sirius Property Investments LLC Renting Houses in Lake Tahoe, CA

Renter Beware: Sirius Property Investments LLC Renting Houses in Lake Tahoe, CA, by Dmitry Pavlov

Are there businesses out there that believe they can rip off the customers? Yes. Sirius property investments LLC, and Noray Hardy in particular, are a good example I would like to share my experiences about. Do they realize that my negative feedback about them would affect their future revenues from renting business in Lake Tahoe? Probably not, although I told them. So now that you are reading this article, I will tell you why you should be careful and thoughtful about renting from these guys. I really wish someone with similar experiences would write something similar before me, so that a simple search on the Web would give me a red flag.

Those who rented know that often times their landlords, umm, how to put it mildly, are not always forthcoming with satisfying reasonable maintainence requests or returning the deposits on time. This is all it is about Sirius --- we rented a house on 2604 Knox avenue, South Lake Tahoe, CA for a week in August of 2007. Negotiated price sounded good, the house was large and my parents, 2 kids, my wife and I had a very good time. Except... The house was real dirty upon move in, there was hair all over the place, in particular in bathrooms, toilets were dirty, so was the fridge, kitchen was greased, we had to wash dishes and linens, microwave works on and off, tv remote doesn't work etc. Arguably, not a big deal. We emailed Noray and she replied that she'd take care of the problem. And never she did. Friendliness ended the time they got the money.

It took her 6 weeks to return the security deposit (California law states clearly that it should be done within 3 weeks). She mentioned things ranging from the eaten bacon to used toilet paper as items she would like to charge our security deposit for. In the end, not only that we didn't get anything back for the lack of cleanliness or the late return of a deposit but also were charged questionably for about 7 items, totalling a little under 100$.

The only reason why I write all this is because I am a big believer in that people should be nice and forthocming to one another, corteous and understanding, reasonable at the minimum. What I found with Sirius and Noray is that they are just untidy in their business practices and I want to tell you, beware.

A more general advice: there is better business bureau (www.bbb.com), South Lake Tahoe chamber of commerce and different legal aids (e.g. this is a free legal aid for people who were ripped off by their landlords National Legal Services Document Assembly Server). I wish you safe rentals.

P.S> It is a pity that the Web doesn't allow for the negative links (any link in fact is deemed as a vote of confidence in the object pointed to by a link, e.g. a web site, Pagerank algorithm is built on this idea.) Negative links unlike positive would downgrade the object pointed to in terms of its goodness. Treat this as a negative pointer to the following entity Sirius Property Investments, LLC 6743 Bertran Court Citrus Heights, Ca 95621 916-723-5914 Office/Fax email:spinvest@comcast.net
