Polynomials-and-rational-expressions/283713: This was all I was given:
The way that we write numbers is based on the powers of 10. We know that ;
10^0=1
10^1=10
10^2=100
10^3=1000 etc.
we also know that 2 times 10^1=20
Using this information write the number 6734 as a polynomial. When you substitute 10 for x you will get the number 6734.

logarithm/283616: Solve
Log6(x+3) + Log6(x-2) = 1
* 6 is the base for both logs 1 solutions
Answer 205831 by user_dude2008(1861) on 2010-03-21 18:36:05 (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website!Log6 (x+3) + Log6 (x-2) = 1
Log6 [(x+3)(x-2)] = 1
(x+3)(x-2) = 6^1
(x+3)(x-2) = 6
x^2+x-6 = 6
x^2+x-12=0
(x+4)(x-3)=0
x+4=0 or x-3=0
x=-4 or x=3
x=-4 is extraneous
Answer: Only solution is x=3
