. Use Chebyshev’s theorem to find what percent of the values will fall between 201 and 345 for a data set with a mean of 273 and standard deviation of 18.
---
z(201) = (201-273)/18 = -4
z(345) = (345-273)/18 = +4
-----
Percent of data is at least (1-(1/4)^2) = 1-(1/16) = 0.9375 = 93.75%
=====================================
II. Use the Empirical Rule to find what two values 68% of the data will fall between for a data set with a mean of 216 and standard deviation of 15.
----
Find the z-value with a left tail of 0.5-0.34 = 0.16
invNorm(0.16) = -0.9945
------
Find the Data Values:
x = zs+u
x = -0.9945*15 + 216 = 201.08
x = 0.9945*15 + 216 = 230.92

-----
A(t) = P(1+(r/n))^(nt)
200,000 = P(1+(0.074/1))^(1*10)
----
Solve for "P":
200,000 = P(1.074)^10
P = 200,000/(1.074)^10
P = $97,946.11

For the 1st question I did this: (5x10)/(15x14)= 50/210 = 5/21 (am pretty sure that is right)
For the 2nd question I am stumped...I thought it would be the same answer but something keeps nagging at me that I am missing something. I thought about this: (5)squared +(10)squared/(15x14) = 125/210.595 or 59.5% I really don't understand how the questions are that different..or at least I know they are asking 2 different probable outcomes but don't know how to explain the difference. Can you please help me? Thanks!

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Suppose an opaque jar contains 5 red marbles and 10 green marbles. I experiment picking 2 marbles from the jar without replacing the first one.
1. What is the probability of getting a green marble first and a red marble second?
Ans: (10/15)(5/14) = 50/210 = 5/21
----
2. What is the probability of getting a green marble and a red marble? How is this different from question #1?
# of ways to succeed: 5*10 = 50
# of random pairs: 15C2 = 105
---
P(red AND green) = 50/105 = 10/21

----
n = [z*s/E]^2
n = [1.645*15/3]^2 = 68 when rounded up.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
if 3,9,27 is a geometric sequence with common ratio of 3.
a(n) = a(1)*r^(n-1)
-------------------------------
(a)find the value of 10 term
a(10) = 3*3^9 = 3^10
----------------------------
(b)sum of first 15 term
S(n) = a[(1-r^n)/(1-r)]
S(15) = 3[(1-3^15)/(-2)] = 21,523,359
------------------------------------
(2)suppose we have 8,16,32,64.
(a)find the value of the 20term
(b)sum of the first 15term
===
Use the formulas.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
3x-2<10 what is its graph
----
Solve for "x":
3x < 12
x < 4
---
Draw the boudary, x = 4, as a dashed line.
Shade the half-plane to the left of the boundary line.
---
The half-plane is the graph you want.
