I don't have the figure but you do.
The base of the rectangle is 2x because it goes x to the right of the y axis
and x to the left of the y axis.
The height of the rectangle is y which equals 27-3x^2

The Area is base*height
A(x) = (2x)(27-3x^2)
A(x) = 54x -6x^3 which is answer "c".

T = 6x+10y is the object function to be evaluated.
Solve the next two for y:
y<=-x+10
y>=(-1/2)x+5
x>=2 defines the domain for the object function
y>=0 defind the range for the object function

Draw a coordinate system.
Draw a vertical line at x=2
Shade the area to the right of x=2 where y>0
Graph the line y=(-1/2)x+5 (shade the area above the line)
Graph the line y=-x+10 (shade the area below the line)

Find the coordinates of the points of intersection of the three lines: x=2;
y=-x+10; y=(-1/2)x+5
They are (2,4), (2,8), and (10,0)

Evaluate T=6x+10y for these three points:
If (2,4), then T=6*2+10*4 = 52 (minimum point)

You can put this solution on YOUR website!Not binomial if the payoff is a fixed figure that does not depend on the number of participlants. That being the case the probability of winning changes every time he playssince more or fewer people participate each day.
====================
If the payoff is adjusted relative to the number of participants the experiment
could possibly be binomial, but that is highly unlikely.

For an experiment to be binomial, the probability of success on each trial

Matrices-and-determiminant/73110: Hi! I am having trouble with writing determinants and understanding Cramer's Rule. Please help me! This is one of my practice questions. There are a few like this so I am hoping if you show me how to do this one, I will be able to do the rest of them myself. Thanks!
Cramer's Rule is used to solve the system of equations:
3x-y+2z=17, 4x+2y-3z=10, and 2x+5y-9z=-6.
Write a determinant to represent the numerator for z. 1 solutions

You can put this solution on YOUR website!3x-y+2z=17,
4x+2y-3z=10, and
2x+5y-9z=-6.
Write a determinant to represent the numerator for z.
---------------------------
z numerator:
1st row: 3 ; -1 ;17
2nd row: 4 ; 2 ;10
3rd row: 2 ; 5 :-6

Linear_Equations_And_Systems_Word_Problems/73111: Not too long ago Edwin greatly helped me solve a system of equations from a word problem, it did indeed help me however, i need to now use that system and solve it using the substitution and elimination methods... can u help me?... the system is....
s + p + c = 40
c = 4p
s = p - 2
1 solutions
Answer 52376 by stanbon(57940) on 2007-03-03 22:40:11 (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website!s + p + c = 40
c = 4p
s = p - 2
---------------
The objective is to get an equation that has only one variable.
You are told c=4p
You are told s=p-2
Substitute that information into the 1st equation to get:
(p-2) +p +4p = 40
6p-2=40
6p=42
p=7
----------
Then c=4p=4*7=28
And s=p-2=7-2=5
---------
Solution:
p=7; s=5, c=28

Yes, multiply each element of the 2x3 matrix by 2
then subtract the corresponding elements of the last matrix

Equations/73107: At noon, two trains leave from towns 175 miles apart. One train averages 40 mph and the other averages 30 mph. At what time do they meet? (Remeber: distance= rate*time) 1 solutions

You can put this solution on YOUR website!At noon, two trains leave from towns 175 miles apart. One train averages 40 mph and the other averages 30 mph. At what time do they meet? (Remeber: distance= rate*time)
----------------
Train One DATA:
Distance: x : Rate= 40 mph ; Time = d/r = x/40 hrs
========
Train Two DATA:
Distance: 175-x miles ; Rate = 30 mph ; Time = d/r = (175-x)/30 hrs
----------------
EQUATION:
Time One = Time Two
x/40 = (175-x)/30
Cross-multiply to get:
30x = 40(175-x)
3x = 4(175-x)
3x = 700 -4x
7x = 700
x=100 miles
Time = x/40 = 100/40 = 2.5 hrs

Square both sides to get:
x=x^2
x^2-x=0
x(x-1)=0
x=0 or x=1

slope = (change in altitude)/(distance along the ground)
=[(-25000 ft)/(22 miles)]

= -25000/116160

It's like this; if I say 3 buicks minus 2 fords you
might very well say Yah??? That would mean you can't
subtract the way I stated the problem.
But, if I said 3 buicks minus 2 buicks you could say
" 1 buick" and I would agree that was an acceptable
answer.
Similarly you can't directly subtract 2/3 from 5/8.
They are not the same animals. What you do is create
a "common denominator"; then you can subtract.
-----------
Now, your problem:
2/(5(w-2)) - 3/(2(w-2))
These have a least common denominator of 15(w-2)
So convert each of the fractions; write each with the lcd as its denominator:
[2*3]/lcd - [3*5]/lcd
6/lcd - 15/lcd
=-9/[15(w-s)]
=-3/[5(w-5)]

Linear_Equations_And_Systems_Word_Problems/73060: This question is from textbook Algebra 2
A tourist agency can sell up to 1200 travel packages for a football game. The package includes airfare, weekend accommodations, and the choice of two types of flights: a nonstop flight or a two-stop flight. The nonstop flight can carry up to 150 passengers, and the two-stop flight can carry up to 100 passengers. The agency can locate no more than 10 planes for the travel packages. Each package with nonstop flight sells for $1200, and each package with a two-stop flight sells for $900. Assume that each plane will carry the maximum number of passengers. What is the linear inequalities to represent the constraints?How would you graph it and how would it look? What are the coordinates of the vertices of the febsible region? 1 solutions
Answer 52316 by stanbon(57940) on 2007-03-03 13:05:54 (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website!A tourist agency can sell up to 1200 travel packages for a football game.
non-stop +two-stop <=1200
----------------
The package includes airfare, weekend accommodations, and the choice of two types of flights: a nonstop flight or a two-stop flight. The nonstop flight can carry up to 150 passengers, and the two-stop flight can carry up to 100 passengers.
0<=n<=150
0<=t<=100
---------------
The agency can locate no more than 10 planes for the travel packages.
p<=10
-------------
Each package with nonstop flight sells for $1200,
Total Value of non-stops is 1200n
---------------
Each package with a two-stop flight sells for $900.
Total Value of two-stops is 900t
---------------
Assume that each plane will carry the maximum number of passengers.
-----------------
How do you suppose to graph this feasible region?
n <= -t+1200
0<=n<=150
0<=t<=100
===========
COMMENT: You have not stated an "objective" function that can
be evaluated using the coordinates of the intersections of the
above inequality lines.
Also you seem to be missing another inequality statement that
would relate n and t.
==================
What are the coordinates of the vertices of the feasible region?
(0,0)
If n=150, t=1050 giving you (150,1050)
