You can put this solution on YOUR website!
There are 10 marbles in a bag, there are 2 times as many green marbles at there are yellow.How many green marbles and how many yellow marbles.
----------------------
Equations:
g + y = 10 marbles
g = 2y
-------------
Substitute for "g" and solve for "y":
2y + y = 10
3y = 10
y = 3 1/3 (# of yellow marbles)
------------------
Comment: The answer does not make much sense
as you cannot have 1/3 of a yellow marble.

---------------------------
Find the z-value that has a right tail of 10%.
---
Ans: z = 1.282
--------------------------------
Find the corresponding x-value:
x = zs+u
x = 1.282*100+500
x = 628.2

-------
z(134) = (134-100)/15 = 34/15
----
P(x > 134) = P(z > 34/15) = 0.0117

P(x < 134) = P(z < 34/15) = 0.9883

I believe that if you Google "sigma notation"
the meaning of that notation will be explained
and you will see examples.

Probability-and-statistics/306605:
Nine percent of men and .25 % of women cannot distinguish between the colors red and green. This is the type of color blindness that causes problems with traffic signals. If 6 men are randomly selected for a study of traffic signal perceptions, find the probability that exactly 2 of them cannot distinguish between red and green.

-------------------
Use the Law of Cosines:
c^2 = a^2 + b^2 - 2ab*cos(pi/3)
---
c^2 = 25 + 36 - 2*5*6*(1/2)
---
c^2 = 61 - 30

c = sqrt(31)

For μ = 60 and σ = 7
1. z score of 78 = (78-60)/8 = 18/8
--------------------------------------
2. z score of 45 = (45-60)/8 = -15/8
------------------------------------
3. probability of 59 = 0

4. probability of 62 = 0

5. score at z = 1.64

6. score at z = –1.96
x = -1.96*8+60 = 44.32

7. percent less than 73
z(73) = (73-60)/8 = 13/8
Percent < 73 = P(z < 13/8) = normalcdf(-100,13/8) = 0.9479

8. proportion between 45 and 78
z(45) = (45-60)/8 = -15/8
