You can put this solution on YOUR website!How much water must be added to 300ML of a 60% acid solution in order to dilute it to a solution of 45% acids?
Equation:
acid + acid = acid
0.60*300 + 0*x = 0.45(300+x)
-----
Multiply thru by 100 to get:
60*300 + 0 = 45*300 + 45x
45x = 15*300
x = (1/3)(300)
x = 100 ML (amt. of water that must be added to the mix)

Probability-and-statistics/310824: Hi, I really need help on my statistics final, the question is pretty long:
For my final I created a survey with the question: Is there a gender preference for fries or onion rings? My null and alternate hypotheses are:
HO: There is not a gender preference for either fries or onion rings.
HA: There is a gender preference for either fries or onion rings.
I've collected the data, and now I need to perform a hypothesis test and I just don't know which one to do. Do I do two seperate two proportion z-tests? And if so, how would I represent that data?
I'm sorry for such a long question, and I would truly appreciate any help that you can give me. 1 solutions

Let the digits 1 thru 9 represent the card different baseball cards.

Pick an arbitrary starting point on a random-number table.
Count how many digits you have to read thru till you have seen
a 1, a 2, a 3, a 4 ...,an 8, and a 9.

Pick another random starting point or continue from where you
left off after the 1st count.
Again, count how many digits you have to read thru till you have

You can put this solution on YOUR website!a rectangle has a length of 4 feet and a perimeter of 14 feet.
Find width:
2(L+W) = 14
L+W = 7
4+W = 7
W = 3
-------------------------------
what is the perimeter of a similar rectangle with a width of 9 feet?
Find the lenght of this rectangle:
L/4 = 9/3
L = 12
------------------------------
Perimeter = 2(L+W) = 2(12+9) = 42 feet
===========================================
a.36ft
b.42ft
c.108ft
d.126ft

Rational-functions/310623: 1. Rationalize the denominator and simplify the expression below.
4/2- squar 5
It's suppose to be where the 5 is under the square root.
2. Simplify the equation y= 2^3 squar 8x-24 and describe the graph of the function using a translation. (the 8x - 24 is under a square root)

You can put this solution on YOUR website!1. Rationalize the denominator and simplify the expression below.
4/(2-squar(5))
---
Multiply numerator and denominator by 2+sqrt(5) to get:
[4(2+sqrt(5)]/[4-5]
= -(8+4sqrt(5))
=======================================================
2. Simplify the equation y= 2^3 squar 8x-24 and describe the graph of the function using a translation. (the 8x - 24 is under a square root)
---
y = 8*sqrt(8x-24)
y = 8*2sqrt(2x-6)
y = 16*sqrt(2(x-3))
-------------------------
Basic graph y = sqrt(x)
Shift 3 to the right because of (x-3)
Compress the width of the curve because of the 2
Multiply all y-values by 16

z varies inversely with the product xy
a. z = 2xy
b. z = 450xy
c. z = 2/xy
d. z = 450/xy
2. When x = 4 and y = 2, z = 32. Which of the following functions models the relationship below?
z varies directly with the square of x and inversely with y
a. z = x^2y
b. z = 16x/y
c. z = 4x^2/y

You can put this solution on YOUR website!1. When x = 5 and y = 3, z = 30. Which of the following functions models the relationship below?
z varies inversely with the product xy
---
z = k/(xy)
Find "k":
30 = k/(15)
k = 450
---
Equation: z = 450/(xy)
a. z = 2xy
b. z = 450xy
c. z = 2/xy
d. z = 450/xy

2. When x = 4 and y = 2, z = 32. Which of the following functions models the relationship below?
z varies directly with the square of x and inversely with y
z = kx^2/y
Solve for "k":
32 = k*16/2
k = 4
Equation:
z = 4x^2/y
---
a. z = x^2y
b. z = 16x/y
c. z = 4x^2/y
d. z = 16x^2/y

Trigonometry-basics/310628: if Theta is an angle between 0 degrees and 90 degrees such that sin=3/5, how much is sec? 1 solutions
Answer 222112 by stanbon(57219) on 2010-06-02 08:54:06 (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website!if Theta is an angle between 0 degrees and 90 degrees such that sin=3/5, how much is sec?
----------------
sin = y/r
---
If sin = 3/5, y = 3 and r = 5
---
Then x = sqrt(r^2-y^2) = sqrt(25-9) = 4
---
sec = r/x
So, sec = 5/4
