If the number is greater than 1, the volume is multiplied by the cube of the number. If the number is less than 1, the volume is divided by the cube of the number. If the number is 1, the volume doesn't change at all.

Because -(-3) is the same as +3, so the problem is actually -6 + 3 which equals -3

I'm just guessing, but I think you mean:

My number has a ones digit that is double the tens digit. The sum of the digits is nine.

Going under that assumption, let represent the tens digit, then must represent the ones digit.

Solve for to get the tens digit. Double it to get the ones digit. Construct your number.

Answering the question exactly as you posed it, ignoring your rather cavalier attitude toward spelling, the answer is 308.

I highly suspect that you meant On Thursday a local hamburger shop sold a combined total of 308 hamburgers and cheeseburgers.

If is a two digit integer that is greater than 40, the largest it could be would be 99. If is an integer and less than 70, the largest it could be is 69. 69 times 99 is a little bit less than 70 times 100 = 7000.

Let R = Renee

You are SOOOOOO close. Consider this: How do you compute the average? You add up all of the items and divide by the number of items. That means that if the average of 3 things is 20,000, then the sum of the three things has to be 60,000.

So, instead of

A linear equation is an equation in which ALL of the terms are degree 1. The degree of a term is the SUM of the exponents on ALL of the variables in that term.

Rewrite including all of the understood exponents:

Note that the degree of the first term is 1 + 1 = 2, and therefore the equation is not linear. If you go to 3D Graphing Calculator and enter your equation, you will be able to see that the thing is non-linear.
