Rectangles/418780: the area of a rectangle is 56 square feet. its lenght is 10 feet longer than the width. find the lenght and width? 1 solutions
Answer 293003 by praseenakos@yahoo.com(507) on 2011-03-07 15:55:09 (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website!width = x feet
length = x + 10 feet
area = length x width
56 = x(x+18)
==> x + 14 = 0 or x-4 = 0
==> x = -14 or x = 4
since length and width cannot be a negative number, you can ignore the negative value u got for x
==> width = 4 feet
so length = 4 + 10 = 14 feet

Triangles/417242: The sum of the measures of the three angles of a triangle is 180 degrees. Find the three angles if two angles are the same and the third is 60 degrees more than the other two. 1 solutions
Answer 292136 by praseenakos@yahoo.com(507) on 2011-03-03 20:40:28 (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website!let the angles are, x, x, and (x+60)
==> x + x + x + 60 = 180
==> 3x + 60 = 180
==> 3x + 60 - 60 = 180 -60
==> 3x = 120
==>
==> x = 40
so the angles are 40,40, and 100

Geometry_Word_Problems/417155: I really REALLY need help, this project is due tonight! I need to figure out what the length and width and all I have is the square feet.
Original length and width
50l x 36w = 1800sq ft
Width is 14 ft less than the length
New square feet
l x w = 1106
How do I find the new length and width? 1 solutions
Answer 292128 by praseenakos@yahoo.com(507) on 2011-03-03 20:11:56 (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website!I am sure, whether its correct or not...coz i did not completely understand your question....
anyways i have given the solution from the information given by u....
pls check ur question and re-post it...
Solution...
length = x
width = x-14
area = 1106
==> X (x- 14) = 1106
==>
when I am solving, I am getting a decimal number
x = 40.985
and width = 40.985 - 14 = 26

Numbers_Word_Problems/417189: five less than three times a number is the same as eight times the number. Find the number
1 solutions
Answer 292115 by praseenakos@yahoo.com(507) on 2011-03-03 19:50:07 (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website!five less than three times a number is the same as eight times the number.
Let the number = x
three times a number = 3x
five less than three times a number = 3x-5
eight times the number = 8x
five less than three times a number is

Quadratic_Equations/416568: Can you help me figure out the write values to use, when graphing a quadratic function using a table. 1 solutions
Answer 291865 by praseenakos@yahoo.com(507) on 2011-03-02 20:03:36 (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website!first you have to find the axis of symmetry using the formula,
this will give you one x value.
No you have to pick two points on each side of this x value on the x-axis...
you can use these 5 values to make the table of values
