Exponential-and-logarithmic-functions/42289: for the given funtions f and g, find
(a) (f o g)(4) (b)(f o g)(2) (c)(f o f)(1)
f(x)=2x; g(x)=3-1/2x^2 1 solutions

You can put this solution on YOUR website!for the given funtions f and g, find
(a) (f o g)(4) (b)(f o g)(2) (c)(f o f)(1)
f(x)=2x; g(x)=3-1/2x^2
solution:
(a) g(4)= 3-1/2(4)^2
= 3- 1 / 32
= 2
so, (f o g)(4)= f[g(4)]
= f[2  ]
= 2 x [2  ]
= 5
(b)g(2)= 3-1/2(2)^2
= 3-1/8
= 2
so,(f o g)(2)= f[g(2)]
= f[2  ]
= 2 x 2
= 5
(c)f(1)= 2(1)=2
so, (f o f)(1)= f[f(1)]
= f[2]
= 2(2)
= 4

You can put this solution on YOUR website!Find the slope of the line passing through the points (–9, –4) and (0, –4).
slope, m= y2-y1 / x2-x1 ; y2=-4, y1=-4, x2=0 and x1=-9
= -4 - (-4) / 0 - (-9)
= -4 + 4 / 0 +9
= 0/ 9
= 0
ans B) 0

Graphs/41842: Find an equation of the line that satisfies the conditions. Write the equation in standard form.
Through(0,3); 1 solutions
Answer 27094 by nik_consult(24) on 2006-06-13 12:36:28 (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website!Through(0,3);
use y=mx+c where  : x = 0 & y = 3 to find the value c
3 =  (0) + c
c = 3
so the equation in standard form is y =  x + 3

Pythagorean-theorem/41863: Let h be the function defined by h(x)=x2(2 means squared)-1, where the domain is the set of real numbers.
a. find h(2)
b. find h(-2)
c. if h(t) = 15 what ar the possible values of t?
d. find h(7.32).

Answer 27084 by nik_consult(24) on 2006-06-13 12:07:01 (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website!h(x)=x2(2 means squared)-1
(a) h(2)= (2)^2-1
= 4-1
= 3
(b)h(-2)= (-2)^2-1
= 4-1
= 3
(c) h(t) = 15
x^2 -1 = 15
x^2 = 1+15
= 16
x = sqrt(16)
= + 4 @ -4
(d) h(7.32)= (7.32)^2-1
= 53.5824 - 1
= 52.5824
