Find the LCD of the denominator and multiply the entire equation by the LCD.
Here the LCD is 3
3*2x+(x/3)*3 -10*3=60*3
6x+x-30=180
7x-30=180
7x= 210

Half dollar = 30 * x/3= 10
quarter = x-10 ==> 30-10=20
