 = Interest earned
 = Principle
 = annual rate
 = time in years
given:

This isn't the answer. The problem wants to know
what the bonds are worth after years, and
that would be Interest earned + Principle

The bonds will be worth $2,611.40 in 5.5 years

f(x) = 5x
f(x) = 4x+2
f(x) = (1/3)x
f(x) = log5x
How do I get the solutions for each of these functions? 1 solutions
Answer 136562 by josmiceli(9657) on 2009-02-14 16:34:18 (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! You are using the word solution incorrectly. Each of the equations
has 2 variables, and . There is no way to "solve"
1 equation with 2 variables. For a solution to be possible, the
number of variables has to equal the number of equations.
You can, however, plot all of these equations. A plot doesn't
give you a solution, unless you're looking for a special point,
like a root, or an intercept.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!2 1/2 is a mixed number and has to be converted to a pure fraction
2 1/2 is actually , so what you have to answer is:
"How many 1/2's are in 2? There are 4 1/2's in 2 because

Now you have
and

So, now you have

Remeber that is just a number and it's OK for it to be
the numerator of a fraction. If you wanted to, you could
represent it as , but it's OK the way it is
Now multiply both sides of the equation by

Now multiply both sides by

Divide both sides by
 answer
To prove the answer, just put this result back into the
original equation

Now you've got fractions in both numerator and denominator,
but it's still OK
MUltiply the left side only by , which is
actully just

Proportions/181454: This question is from textbook
i do not understand scales for pre algebra here is my question:
Actual size:30ft
drawing size: 6 inches 1 solutions
Answer 136064 by josmiceli(9657) on 2009-02-11 00:29:57 (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website!6 in on a map represents 30 ft on the ground
It's like you got into a helicopter and climbed
higher and higher until something on the
ground that was 30 ft long looked 6 in long
If you got even higher, it might look 1/2 in long
All the scale is saying is:
How does 6 in compare with 30 ft?
How many inches are in 30 ft?
30 ft x 12 in/ft = 360 in
The scale is 6 in / 360 in, or
1 in / 60 in
Note that feet and inches are like apples and oranges.
You can't compare them directly
