other words
start off with (8x^2 - 5x + 19)+ (8x^2 + 8x -58) .. now take ur problem in the first set of ( ) which is (8x^2 - 5x + 19) now combine like terms first u have 8x^2-5x subtract you get 3x^2 +19 3*3=9 9+19=28 28 is your first answer. then you repeat these steps with the second set of ( )which is (8x^2 + 8x -58) then when u get that answer u take that answer and 28 and add them together
