Equations/750868: This was the first problem I had. I do not understand equations whatsoever. Not two-part equations, not one-part equations, not any equation! Please help me!
First, I tried:
(1/3)(9x-12)=4x-9
1/3(9x)-1/3(12)=4x-9
(3x-4)=4x-9
3x-4x=-1x
4x-4x=0
-1x-4=-9
-9+4=-5
-1x=-5
x=-5
I got this question wrong, but I don't know how!

You have -1x = -5 and you need to divide both sides by -1 to isolate x
-1x = -5
(-1x)/(-1) = -5/(-1)
(1x)/1 = 5/1
1x = 5
