Permutations/217296: Kindly answer this question please!!! Thanks!!! A housing contractor will build a house with 2,3, or 4 bedrooms, 1,or 2 bathrooms and a single garage. How many choices does he offer? 1 solutions
Answer 163855 by ichudov(404) on 2009-09-25 21:09:09 (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! As your problem does not say anything about any restriction, I assume that any combination is possible, like 4 bedrooms and one bathroom.
It would seem that the only choices are bedrooms and bathrooms and the garage is not a choice, that is there can be only one. In this case there is six possibilities -- from three choices of bathrooms multiplied by two choices of restrooms. If it is possible to not have a garage, you have to multiply that number (six) by two for each possibility of garage or no garage.

Graphs/217214: 1)A function f is given. x^4-9x^2
(a) Use a graphing device to draw the graph of f.
(b) State approximately the intervals on which f is increasing and on which f is decreasing. Use (0, 0) for any remaining intervals that you do not need. (Round your answers to the nearest tenth.)
Increasing.
It asks for (?,?) Left most increasing
(?,?) right most increasing
(?,?) left most decreasing
(?,?) right most decreasing 1 solutions

Linear_Equations_And_Systems_Word_Problems/217226: 1) Solve the system of linear equations
a) What is the value of z?
b) What is the value of x?
c) What is the value of y? 1 solutions

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
From the last equation -x+y-2z=-1, you quickly get x = y-2z+1.
substitute this in first two and simplify
first equation : (y-2z+1)-2y+3z=1 or -y+z=0
second equation: 4(y-2z+1)+5y+z=26, simplify this:
| Solved by pluggable solver: EXPLAIN simplification of an expression |
Your Result:
Simplify 4*(y-2z+1)+5y+z=26 Your Answer:
- Graphical form:
simplifies to - Text form: 4*(y-2z+1)+5y+z=26 simplifies to 9*y-7*z-22=0
- Cartoon (animation) form:

So, we know that z=11. Since , y=11.
Answer: .

Since y and z = 11, and x = y-2z+1, we get x = 11-22+1 = -10

Graphs/217058: Could someone please help me with this problem. It says to graph the ellipse I tried solving for Y but i came out with y=4-1/2x which didnt seem to work. I would really appreciate any step by step help. 1 solutions

You can put this solution on YOUR website! You can start with a graph of the inequality to get you started:
This site has a general graphing calculator that plots inequalities.
You can set x = 0 and find out where the ellipse cross the Y axis, by solving for Y: , which is easy ( ). Then do the same to find out where it crosses the X axis with Y=0: ( ).
