Hi,
25 27 31 33 26 28 38 41 24 32 35 40 , m = 31.6667
s = 5.8827, the sample of 12 standard deviation
95% confidence interval , z = 2.2 for a sample size of 12 (degree of freedom= 11)
ME = 2.2%2A5.8827%2Fsqrt%2812%29

Quadratic_Equations/669615: I am so confused on this.
Graph each quadratic function, and state it's domain and range.

The directions are as follows:
•There are many ways to go about solving math problems. For this assignment you will be required to do some work that will not be included in the discussion. First, you need to graph your functions so you can clearly describe the graphs in your discussion. Your graph itself is not required in your post, although the discussion of the graph is required. Make sure you have at least five points for each equation to graph. Show all math work for finding the points.
•Specifically mention any key points on the graphs, including intercepts, vertex, or start/end points. (Points with decimal values need not be listed, as they might be found in a square root function. Stick to integer value points.)
•Discuss the general shape and location of each of your graphs.
•State the domain and range for each of your equations. Write them in interval notation.
•State whether each of the equations is a function or not giving your reasons for the answer.
•Select one of your graphs and assume it has been shifted three units upward and four units to the left. Discuss how this transformation affects the equation by rewriting the equation to incorporate those numbers.
•Incorporate the following five math vocabulary words into your discussion. Use bold font to emphasize the words in your writing (Do not write definitions for the words; use them appropriately in sentences describing the thought behind your math work.):
◦Function
◦Relation
◦Domain
◦Range
◦Transformation

Hi,
standard forms are a 'need to know'
the vertex form of a Parabola opening up(a>0) or down(a<0)is: y=a%28x-h%29%5E2+%2Bk
where(h,k) is the vertex and x = h is the Line of Symmetry Pt(2,-5) on the curve
y=-2x^2+3 V(0,3), -2< 0, opening downward, Line of Symmetry is x = 0 (y=axis)
function(satisfies the vertical Line test) describes a parabola.
domain: (−∞,∞)
range: (−∞,3]
Transformation(shifted three units upward and four units to the left) y = -2(x+4)^2 + 6

Hi,
M is the midpoint of segment PQ.
PM = 5x+3 and MQ = 2x+12
Therefore...
PM + MQ = PQ = 5x + 3 + 2x + 12 = 7x + 15

Travel_Word_Problems/669522: A boat takes 2hours to go 4 miles upstream. It can go 8 miles downstream in the same amount of time. Find the rate of the current and the rate of the boat in still water. (Because the current pushes the boat when it is going downstream, the rate of the boat downstream is the sum of the rate of the boat and the rate of the current. The current slows down the boat when it's going upstream so the rate of the boat upstream is the difference of the rate of the boat and the rate of the current. I need to know the rate of the current and the rate of the boat in still water in MPH.

Hi,
A boat takes 2hours to go 4 miles upstream. r+=+4mi%2F2hr+=+2mph
It can go 8 miles downstream in the same amount of time of 2hrs.
r - c = 4/2 = 2mph
r + c = 8/2 = 4mph ||Adding EQs together to elminate c
2r = 6mph
r = 3mph and c = 1mph
