Thw paralellogram is a rhombus, and its asking to solve for xy.
Note: sides of a rhombus are of equal length
3y+4 = 7y-4
8 = 4y y = 2
2x+4 = 4x+2
2 = 2x x = 1 and xy = 1·2 = 2

Hi,
the side of a cube is represented by 2x-1 .
Find, in terms of x, the volume of the cube
Volume of cube = s^3 = (2x-1)^3 = 8x%5E3%2B-12x%5E2%2B6x%2B-1+
Note: (2x-1)(2x-1) = 4x^2 - 4x + 1
(4x^2 - 4x + 1)(2x-1)= 2x(4x^2 - 4x + 1) + 1(4x^2 - 4x + 1) gives us 8x%5E3%2B-12x%5E2%2B6x%2B-1
Or use %28a%2Bb%29%5E3+=+a%5E3+%2B+3a%5E2b%5E1+%2B+3a%5E1b%5E2+%2B+b%5E3 |where a = 2x and b = -1
3x-4y-16 = 0, that is a Line y = (3/4)x - 4, slope = (3/4) and (0,-4) the point
this line crosses the y-axis
