A) 3x + 5y = 15
I have gotten both intercepts, which are, x-intercept-5, y-intercept-3.
I cannot understand how to find the area and perimeter. 1 solutions

Quadratic-relations-and-conic-sections/623675: What are the vertices of the ellipse given by the equation x2 + 4y2 + 10x 56y + 205 = 0?
? 1 solutions
Answer 392224 by ewatrrr(10682) on 2012-06-25 12:03:28 (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Hi,
x2 + 4y2 + 10x 56y = -205 |completing the Square
(x+5)^2 + 4(y-7)^2 = -205 + 25 + 196 = 16
C(-5,7) and V(-1,7),V(-9,7) & V(-5,9), V(-5,5)

See below descriptions of various conics
Standard Form of an Equation of a Circle is
where Pt(h,k) is the center and r is the radius
Standard Form of an Equation of an Ellipse is
where Pt(h,k) is the center. (a variable positioned to correspond with major axis)
a and b are the respective vertices distances from center
and ± are the foci distances from center: a > b
Standard Form of an Equation of an Hyperbola opening right and left is:
with C(h,k) and vertices 'a' units right and left of center
Foci are units right and left of center along y = k
& Asymptote Lines passing thru C(h,k), with slopes m = ± b/a
Standard Form of an Equation of an Hyperbola opening up and down is:
with C(h,k) and vertices 'b' units up and down from center
Foci units units up and down from center, along x = h
& Asymptote Lines passing thru C(h,k), with slopes m = ± b/a
the vertex form of a Parabola opening up(a>0) or down(a<0), where(h,k) is the vertex.
The standard form is , where the focus is (h,k + p)
the vertex form of a Parabola opening right(a>0) or left(a<0), where(h,k) is the vertex.
The standard form is , where the focus is (h +p,k )

Exponents/623648: Not sure if this is right place to ask this question:
The problem had a step in it:
First rewrite the value of f(x) in exponential form, with base 8.
f(x)=1/512 = 1/8^3 = 8^-3
I understand that 8^3 equals 1/512, just not what steps they took. Is there an easy way to figure out the exponential form of a number? Also, why did the exponent become negative at the end step?
Thank you. 1 solutions
