Rational-functions/673355: 4^2x-1 = the square root of 2
4^2x-1 = 2^1/2
2x-1 = 1/2
2x = 1/2 + 1
x = 3/2 divided by 2
x = 3/2 * 1/2
x = 3/4
But this answer doesn't work in the equation. Can you please help me? 1 solutions

test/673224: Please what I am so confused on the following question:
If I have data points for the boiling point of water
ELEVATION (ft): 0, 1000, 2000, 3000, 4000, 5000
BOILING POINT(F): 212, 210.2, 208.4, 206.6, 204.8, 203
Question: Using the equation y= -0.002x + 212 (which is a rounded version of the equation line of best fit for this data) At what elevation would you expect for water to boil at 207 degrees Fahrenheit? Round answer nearest foot and explain your answer.
HOW DO I EXPLAIN my answer in a sophisticated way???
PLEASE PLEASE help me I would really appreciate it and thank you for your time. 1 solutions

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Hi,
Y=bX+a, Yes. (0,a)
Slope = SP/SSx = 8/10 Yes.
SSresidual = SSy(1-r^2) = 38(1-(.9177)^2) = 6 Yes. to nearest whole number.

Linear-equations/672311: I have this problem and I dont see how the answer book got the answer of -1. I am working on finding the slope of lines. This is the problem: 2x+2y+1=0.
I cancel oout the 2y by divinding by 2 all aound. I come up with y=-x-1/2. My points are (0,-1/2) which I see then the answer book says (1,-3/2) which I dont see how they got that for the second point. Can you explain it to me. thank you! 1 solutions
