You can put this solution on YOUR website!6*92+89X=90(6+X)
552+89X=540+90X
89X-90X=540-552
-X=-12
X=12 STUDENTS AVERAGED 90 ON THE TESTS.
PROOF:
6*92+89*12=90(6+12)
552+1,068=90*18

Circles/325377: A circle has a radius of 8 inches. Find the area of a sector of the circle if the sector has an arc that measures 45°. 1 solutions
Answer 233023 by checkley77(12569) on 2010-07-25 13:31:06 (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website!A=PIR^2
A=3.14*8^2
A=3.14*64
A=200.96 INCHES^2 ANS. FOR THE AREA OF THE CIRCLE.
BECAUSE AN ARC OF 45 DEGREES IS 45/360=.125 OF THE AREA.
THEN:
.125*200.96=25.12 INCHES^2

Linear_Algebra/325380: Ok...here goes...I am attempting to find the sum of the polynomials:
6x^3-2x^4+9 and -2x^4+3x+3
I think this is the way to complete the problem, if at all possible can someone confirm this and if i am wrong please assist me in understanding what I have done wrong...
My thoughts:
write equation
(6x^3-2x^4+9)+(-2x^4+3x+3)combine like terms
6x^3(-2x^4+(-2x^4)+3x+3+9
6x^3-4^4+3x+12
basically resulting in the answer being
-4^4+6x^3+3x+12
I would appreciate any feed back on this problem and thank you in advance for your time and help 1 solutions

Miscellaneous_Word_Problems/325255: This is the word problem. Thanks!:
Jane and Tariq took a canoeing trip, traveling 6 mi upsteam against a 2 mi/h current. They then returned to the same point downstream. If their entire trip took 4 h, how fast can they paddle in still water? (Hint: If r is their rate, in mi/h, in still water, their rate upstream is r-2 and their rate dwonstream is r+2) 1 solutions

You can put this solution on YOUR website!D=RT
T=D/R
4=6/(R+2)+6(R-2)
4=[6(R-2)+6(R+2)]/(R+2)(R-2)
4=(6R-12+6R+12)/(R^2-4)
4=12R/(R^2-4)
4(R^2-4)=12R
4R^2-16-12R=0
4R^2-12R-16=0
4(R^2-3R-4)=0
4(R-4)(R+1)=0
R-4=0
R=4 ANS FOR THE RATE OF THE CANOE IN STILL WATER.
PROOF:
4=6/(4+2)+6/(4-2)
4=6/6+6/2
4=1+3
4=4
