You can put this solution on YOUR website!
x(x+2)=16
x^2+2x-16=0
using the quadratic equation we get:
X=(-2+-SQRT[2^2-4*1*-16])/2*1
X=(-2+-SQRT[4+64])/2
X=(-2+-SQRT68)/2
X=(-2+-8.246)/2
X=(-2+8.246)/2
X=6.246/2
X=3.123 ANSWER FOR THE SHORT SIDE.
3.123+2=5.123 ANSWER FOR THE LONG SIDE.
PROOF
3.123*5.123=16
16=16

I'll assume yopu have a circle with a radius of 4/3 inches.
If your looking for the circumferance then:
C=2*PI*R
C=2*3.14*.75
C=4.71 INCHES.
------------------------
If your looking for the area then:
A=PI*R^2
A=3.14*.75^2
A=1.766 INCHES.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
(2x-7)(7x+2)=0 there are two ways to go:
---------------------------------------------------------------
solve each of the factors for x thus:
2x-7=0, 2x=7, x=7/2, x=3.5 answer.
7x+2=0, 7x=2, x=2/7 answer.
---------------------------------------------------------------
OR using the FOIL (first, outer, inner, last) multiplication process we get:
14x^2+4x-49x-14=0
14x^2-45x-14=0
