Angles/116925: The three angles in trangle POR are in the ratio of 6:26:13. What is the measure of each angle?
1 solutions

Answer 85045 by checkley71(8403) About Me  on 2007-12-15 11:44:33 (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website!
IF YOU ADD 16+26+13=55
NOW DIVIDE 180 BY 55
180/55=3.27272727 THIS IS THE FACTOR TO MULTIPLY EACH RATIO BY TO FIND THE SPECIFIC ANGLES.
16*3.272727=52.363636 DEGREES FOR ANGLE #1
26*3.272727=85.090909 DEGREES FOR ANGLE #2
13*3.272727=42.545454 DEGREES FOR ANGLE #3
NOW ADD THEM.
52.363636
85.090909
42.545454
-----------------
179.999999 OR ROUNDED TO 180 DEGREES.

THERE ARE MANY ANSWERS TO THIS QUESTION.
X^2+Y^2=36
IF X IS THE LENGTH OF 4 THEN:
16+Y^2=36
Y^2=36-16
Y^2=36-16
Y^2=20
Y=SQRT20
Y=4.47 FOR THE WIDTH
PROOF
4*2+4.4762=36
16+20=36
36=36
ALSO IF X IS THE LENGTH OF 5 THEN:
5^2+Y^2=36
25+Y^2=36
Y^2=36-25
Y^2=9
Y=SQRT9
Y=3 FOR THE WIDTH.
PROOF
5^2+3^2=36

X^2-9Y^2i^2 (NOTE THAT i=SQRT-1) SO i^2=SQRT-1*SQRT-1=-1
X^2-9Y^2*-1=X^2+9Y^2

THERE IS ONLY 1 WAY TO SOLVE THESE TYPE OF PROBLEMS.
WORK FROM WITHIN THE ( ) FIRST, THEN MULTIPLY/DIVIDE THEN ADD/SUBTRACT.
2[4-2(3-X)-1=4[2(4X-3)+7]-25
2[4-6+2X]-1=4[8X-6+7]-25
8-12+4X-1=32X-24+28-25
4X-32X=-24+28-25-8+12
-28X=-17
X=-17/-28
X=17/28 ANSWER.

Answer 84982 by checkley71(8403) About Me  on 2007-12-14 21:22:41 (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website!
24T=18(4.9-T)
24T=88.2-18T
24T+18T=88.2
42T=88.2
T=88.2/42
T=2.1 HOURS FOR THE 24 MPH TRIP.
4.9-2.1=2.8 HOURS FOR THE 18 MPH TRIP.
PROOF
24*2.1=18*2.8
50.4=50.4 MILES WHICH IS THE DISTANCE TO THE TOWN VISITED..

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
L=2W+10
32=2(2W+10)+2W
32=4W+20+2W
32=6W+20
6W=32-20
6W=12
W=12/6
W=2 ANSWER FOR THE WIDTH.
L=2*2+10
L=4+10
L=14 ANSWER FOR THE LENGTH.
PROOF
2*2+2*14=32
4+28=32
32=32

Coordinate-system/116862: Determine wether the lines through the pairs of points are parallel,perpendiular, or neither.
12x+4y = 16
27x+9y = 40

Answer 84980 by checkley71(8403) About Me  on 2007-12-14 21:09:18 (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website!
12X+4Y=16 OR 4Y=-12X+16 OR Y=-12X/4+16/4 OR Y=-3X+4
27X+9Y=40 OR 9Y=-27X+40 OR Y=-27X/9+40/9 OR Y=-3X+40/9
THESE 2 EQUATIONS HAVE THE SAME SLOPE (-3) THEREFORE THEY ARE PARALLEL LINES.
