Mixture_Word_Problems/13095: how many liters each of two solutions containing 30% and 20% acid, respectively, must be mixed to prepare 50 liters of solutions containing 26% acid?
1 solutions

Answer 6601 by MArk_HeRras(6) About Me  on 2005-09-29 10:18:50 (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website!
30%(x)+ 20%(50-x)= 50(26%)
.30x + .20(50-x) = 50(.26)
100[.30x + 10 - .20x = 13]100
30x + 1000 - 20x = 1300
30x - 20x = 1300 - 1000
10x = 300
10x/10 = 300/10
X = 30
Checking
.3030 + .20(50-30) = 50(.26)
100[.30(30) + 4 = 13]100
900 + 400 = 1300
1300=1300
So the answer is 30L for the first solution and 20L for the second solution to get 50L.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
1) 99=3a
99=3a
(99)/(3)=(3a)/(3) First,Divide 3 to both sides
33=a
a=33 Thats The Answer
2) 6.5b=3
6.5b=3
(6.5b)/(6.5)=(3)/(6.5) First,Divide 6.5 to both sides
b=.46 The answer
3) c/6=12
c/6=12 First,Multiply 6 to both ides to get the answer
6*(c)/(6)=12*6
c=72 The answer
4) 4=d/12
4=d/12 The same as No.3.Multiply First, 12 to both sides
12*4=(d)/(12)* 12
48=d
d=48 The answer
5) c/0.3=150
c/0.3=150 The Same Also as No.3 and No.4.
.3*(c)/(0.3)=150*.3
c=5 The Answer
The Following 6-10 .I will answer it Nexttime.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
In Question No.1
A/Representing: X =Length
6 =Width
Equation:2(6) + 2(x) = 60
Solution:
2(6) + 2(x) = 60
12 + 2x = 60
2x = 60 - 12
2x = 48
2x/2 = 48/2
x = 24
now for checking
A: x - 24 =length
6 =width
Checking:2(6) + 2(24) = 60
12 + 48 = 60
60 =60

And last quesrion No.2
A/representing: x =width
15 =length
E: 2(x) + 2(15) = 50
S:
2(x) + 2(15) = 50
2x + 30 = 50
2x=50-30
2x/2 = 20/2
x = 10
Now checking
A: x = 10 = width
15 = length
C: 2(10) + 2(15) = 50
20 + 30 = 50
50 = 50

So the answer in No.1 is x - 24 =length,6 =width
And in No.2 is x = 10 = width,15 = length

3d > 9
You just have to divide 3 to both sides.Thats all!!
3d/3 > 9/3
d > 3
The (>)sign don't Changes!!

Geometry_Word_Problems/10974: In any triangle, the sum of the measures of the angles is 180 degrees. In triangle ABC, angle A is 4 times as large as angle B. Angle C measures 20 degrees less than angle B. Find the measure of each angle.

Answer 5756 by MArk_HeRras(6) About Me  on 2005-09-13 21:51:48 (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website!
A/R(representing the unknown):
4x = Angle A
x = Angle B
x-20 = Angle c
E(Equation): 4x + x + x - 20=180
S(Solution):
4x + x + 20 - x = 180
Add 4x + x - x = 4x
Then, transposed -20 to the right side showing us
180 - 20 = 160
4x = 160

Now, Divide 4 to both sides like this:
4x/4 = 160/4

The Answer is x = 40
C(Checking): 4(40) = 160 =Angle A
x = 40 = Angle B
20 - 40 = -20
4(40) + 40 + 20 - 40 = 180
160 + 60 - 40 =180
220 - 40 = 180
180 = 180
