Answer 244965 by Fombitz(13828) About Me  on 2010-09-13 07:50:01 (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Let A be the amount of the 10% cashew mixture, B the amount of the 100% cashew mixture.
1.A%2BB=6
.
.
.
10A%2B100B=25%286%29
10A%2B100B=150
2.A%2B10B=15
Subtract eq. 1 from eq. 2,
A%2B10B-A-B=15-6
9B=9
highlight%28B=1%29
Then from eq. 1,
A%2B1=6
highlight%28A=5%29
.
.
.
You need 5 kg of the 10% mixture and 1 kg of 100% mixture.

Radicals/341839: the cubed root of (2x+3) + 5= 2. I was told the answer is -15, but can't figure out how to get there. This is what I have tried.
(2x+3)^3+5^3=2^3. Put both sides to the 3rd power to undo the cubed root.
8x^3+125=8. Simplified.
8x^3= -117 Subtract 125 from both sides.
x^3= -117/8 Divide both sides by 8.
x^3= -14.625
x= cubed root of (-14.625)
x= i(2.445)
As you can tell I'm doing something totally wrong because I am WAY off.

Simplify first.

Problems-with-consecutive-odd-even-integers/341617: How many integers in the set of all integers from 1 to 100, inclusive, are not the square of an integer?

Let's work backwards.
Find the ones that are.
+1%5E2=1
2%5E2=4
3%5E2=9
4%5E2=16
5%5E2=25
6%5E2=36
7%5E2=49
8%5E2=64
9%5E2=81
10%5E2=100
That makes 10.
From 1 to 100, there are 100 numbers.
So 100-10=90 of them are not squares of an integer.
