Apartment 2 costs $600 per month and would let you get to work via the bus. A bus pass costs $40 per month. Apartment 3 costs $400 per month but would require a car which you estimate would cost $400 per month. Which apartment is the most economical?

Answer 450580 by Bb(19) on 2013-04-15 12:34:16 (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website!Lets start getting all the apartments to show the total monthly costs
Apartment 1 $700 a month
Apartment 2 $600+40= $640 a month
Apartment 3 $400+400= $800 a month
The most economical apartment would be Apartment 2 because it costs the least at $640 a month total cost.

Miscellaneous_Word_Problems/737824: You find an apartment that rents for $320 per month. You are also responsible for utilities that average $80 per month. What is your likely yearly cost for this apartment? 1 solutions
Answer 450579 by Bb(19) on 2013-04-15 12:29:56 (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website!The monthly costs are $320 per month and $80 per month. Because these costs are monthly use m to show that these costs occur monthly.
320m+80m=400m
In order to calculate how much this will cost per year substitute 12 for m because there are 12 months in a year
400m=400*(12)
400*(12)= $4800 per year.
The yearly cost for the apartment is $4800.

expressions/612181: 48-36*(11-2)
1 solutions
Answer 385315 by Bb(19) on 2012-05-17 19:25:46 (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website!In order to solve this equation you must go through the order of operations which is parentheses, exponents & roots, multiplication and division, addition and subtraction. So (11-2)=9 so you then take 36*9=324 You then take 48-324=-276 So the final answer is -276

Linear-equations/29450: my son needs help with these also
7n+14-9n=26
5x=4=x-4
1 solutions
Answer 16234 by Bb(19) on 2006-03-06 21:54:53 (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website!ok for the 1st problem 7n+14-9n=26 u -14 on both sides and get 7n-9n=12 then u do simplify 7n-9n and u get -2n=12 then u divide both sides by -2 and u get your answer -6 to check your answer place -6 in for the n's and the problem will equal 26 which is the answer u want
for the 2nd problem 5x=4=x-4 u +4 to the 4 and u get 5x=8=x u subtract the x from 5x and get 4x=8 u divde both sides by 4 and u get x=2 i'm not exactly positive on on this one but i'm pretty sure that's how u do it
i hope that helped u
