I need help breaking down and finding the equeation for x-intercept -3, y-intercept 5
-----------------
"breaking down" is not a math operation I'm familiar with.
--------------
you have 2 points, (-3,0) and (0,5)
Slope = diffy/diffx = 5/3 = m
--> y = (5/3)x + 5
---------------------
That's not "the" equation, it's an equation that fits.
5x - 3y = -15 is another.

a=pots; b=pans; c=glasses; So, 4a + 3b + 21c = 476
Now what?
----------------
So, 4a + 3b + 21c = 476
The trick is, a, b & c are integers. You can't have 2/3 of a pot or pan.
-----------
4 + 3 + 21 = 28
476/28 = 17
-----
pots = 4*17 = 68
pans = 3*17 = 51
glasses = 21*17 = 357

Find the volume of this tube. You can think of it as a hollow cylinder. The tube consists of a smaller tube inside of a larger tube. The smaller tube has a radius of 5, and the larger tube has an overall radius of 10. The height for them both is 15. Please include the answer followed by pi.
If I could please have a direct answer that would be great, because I tried solving it using the formula, and it didn't work out. Thanks!

15 labourers can lay 85 metres of cable in 10 days. How long will it take
a) 12 labourers to ly 85 metres of cable?
b) 8 labourers to lay 100 metres of cable?
----------------
15 labourers can lay 85 metres of cable in 10 days.
85 metres = 15*10 man-days = 150 man-days

Trigonometry-basics/591078: How can I prove this identity? (1-cos^2theta)(1+cos^2theta)=2sin^2theta-sin^4theta?
I tried to do it, and this is what I've come up with so far, and am not sure if I am doing it correctly.
Working with the left side, I have the following:
sin^2theta(1+cos^2theta) =
sin^2theta+(sin^2theta*cos^2theta)
And then it stops.

If a plane can travel 500 miles per hour with the wind 400 miles per hour against the wind, find the speed of the plane without a wind and the speed of the wind? What is the speed of the plane in still air?
---------------
The "speed of the plane without a wind" is called the airspeed, and it's the average of the 2 groundspeeds.
-------------
The windspeed is the difference between airspeed and groundspeed.

A plane flew 1740 km in 6 hours with tail wind. On return trip, going into the wind, the plane flew 570 km in 3 hours. What is the planes speed if there was no wind.
----------------
1740 km/6 hr = 290 km/hr
570 km/3 hr = 190 km/hr
-------------
The plane's airspeed is the average = 240 km/hr
-----------------
The term is airspeed, and planes don't use kilometers.
They use nautical miles and knots.
