Find c so that x-3y=c is not parallel to 2x-6y=10.
-----------
c does not affect the slope. They are parallel.
There is no c which will make the not parallel.
If c = 5, the are coincident, the same line, but that is still the same slope = parallel.
----------------
Show that ax+by=c and bx-ay=kare perpendicular.
ax+by=c
m=-a/b
bx-ay=k
m=b/a
-------
The 2 slopes are negative inverses --> perpendicular.

Quadratic equation ax%5E2%2Bbx%2Bc=0 (in our case 1x%5E2%2B-1x%2B8+=+0) has the following solutons:

x%5B12%5D+=+%28b%2B-sqrt%28+b%5E2-4ac+%29%29%2F2%5Ca

For these solutions to exist, the discriminant b%5E2-4ac should not be a negative number.

First, we need to compute the discriminant b%5E2-4ac: b%5E2-4ac=%28-1%29%5E2-4%2A1%2A8=-31.

The discriminant -31 is less than zero. That means that there are no solutions among real numbers.

If you are a student of advanced school algebra and are aware about imaginary numbers, read on.

In the field of imaginary numbers, the square root of -31 is + or - sqrt%28+31%29+=+5.56776436283002.

---------------
There's no equation to solve a formula.
That is an equation, solve it for x.
0.47 = 3,547,000 * x / 10,300,000
0.47*10300000 = 3,547,000 * x

6000/200-2x
The equation can be made to use the %, or the decimal value
6000/200-200x using the decimal value would give the same result.
And, it's 6000/(200-2x), just sloppiness on the part of the presenter, or the author.
