Please help me solve this equation: with a slope of -2/5 and Y intercept 9.
write the equation in the form of Ax+By=C.
--------------
To be picky, you don't have an equation to solve.
You want to find an equation that fits the specs.
-----------------
slope and y-intercept are given, so
y = (-2/5)x + 9
5y = -2x + 45
2x + 5y = 45 is the equation in standard form.

It will take it 1/1440 hours.
1 hour = 3600 seconds.
Go from there.

Get it into units that can be added:
One blower does 1/6 of the job per hour.
The other does 1/9 per hour.
Together, they do 1/6 + 1/9 per hour.
1/6 + 1/9 = 15/54 jobs/hour
--> 54/15 hours per job
= 3.6 hours or 3 hr 36 minutes
----------------------
Use the shortcut, product/sum
6*9/(6+9) = 54/15 etc.

It's a matter of semantics.
quadratic is 2nd order, or exponent 2. It comes from quadrangle, which is rectangular.
---------------
But, as the other tutor pointed out, it can be a quadratic in x^4, which gives and exponent of 8.
If the exponents are in order as in his example, 8, 4, 0, then it's a quadratic in x^4. It's a%28x%5E4%29%5E2+%2B+b%28x%5E4%29%5E1+%2B+c%28x%5E4%29%5E0+=+0
-------------
I don't know where you might have gotten the info about exponent 6.

9044/2 = 4522 the center between the 2 numbers
--> 4521 & 4523
It's not guessing, but no equation is needed.
----------------------------------------
The long way:
x + x+2 = 9044
2x + 2 = 9044
2x = 9042
x = 4521
x+2 = 4523

what is my average speed? 240/3 = 80 mph
trip distance? 240 miles
displacement? relative to what?
and average velocity? Velocity is a vector that includes speed and direction. It's often used to mean speed, and speed has already been calculated.
I don't think averages apply to vectors, either.

What is the exponent of x^(2/3)=36?
The exponent of x is 2/3.
--------------------------
what is the inequality of 2^(x+7) > 1/3^(2)
That question makes no sense. The statement 2^(x+7) > 1/3^(2) is an inequality.
---------------------------
what is the exponent of 3^(2x-1)=1/243
The exponent of 3 is 2x-1.
--------------------------------
I suspect you want to solve these ??
What is the exponent of x^(2/3)=36?
Try "solve for x"
x^(2/3) = 36
Take the square root of both sides.
x^(1/3) = 6, -6
Cube both sides
x = 216, -216
----------------
2^(x+7) > 1/3^(2)
2^(x+7) > 1/9
(x+7)*log(2) > log(1/9)
x+7 > log(1/9)/log(2)
x > log(1/9)/log(2) - 7
x > -34.34258656
-----------------
3^(2x-1)=1/243
243 = 3^5
3^(2x-1)=3^(-5)
2x-1 = -5
2x = -4
x = -2

I am trying to solve with this equation c(g)=3.03(g).
what does this number represent 3.03
find c(2)
find c (9)
how do I work this
---------------
I think it's c(g) = 3.03*g (3.03 times g)
3.03 is a coefficient, for a multiplier.
It's also the slope of the graph.
-----------------
For c(2), sub 2 for g
c(2) = 3.03*2 = 6.06
c(9) = 3.03*9 = 27.27

Closer.

Without solving tell if the system is inconsistent, the equations are dependent or neither
x+5y+31
2x-4y=-8
One of the + signs in the 1st eqn should be and equal sign.
In either case, the slopes of the 2 lines will be different, so the eqns are independent and consistent.
---------------
Not inconsistent.
Not dependent.
