It's not an equation. All equations have an equal sign.
There are 3 variables, you didn't say which one to solve for, but since it's not an equation, it can't be solved anyway.
-----------------
+%28%288x%5E6+%2B%283%2A10%5E7%29%282%2A10%5E-5%29%29+%2F+%28%285y%2B2%29%282w%29%29%29%5E2+
It can be simplified some.
= +%28%288x%5E6+%2B+600%29+%2F+%28%285y%2B2%29%282w%29%29%29%5E2+
= +%28%284x%5E6+%2B+300%29+%2F+%28%285y%2B2%29%28w%29%29%29%5E2+
--------------
From there it can be expanded, but that's not simplification.
= %284x%5E6+%2B+300%29+%2F+%285wy%2B2w%29%29%5E2+
= %2816x%5E12+%2B+2400x%5E6+%2B+90000%29%2F%2825w%5E2y%5E2+%2B+20w%5E2y+%2B+4w%5E2%29
The 16 can be factored out:
= 16%28x%5E12+%2B+150x%5E6+%2B+5625%29%2F%2825w%5E2y%5E2+%2B+20w%5E2y+%2B+4w%5E2%29
All versions are equal.
Simplification can be a matter of opinion.

If the graphs intersect, the point of intersection is the ONE solution.
If they coincide, there are an infinite # of solutions.
If they are parallel, there is no intersection, and no solution.

Quadratic_Equations/293255: solve by completing the square 3/8x^2 = 1/8 - x
Get 0 on one side: 3/8x^2 + x - 1/8 = 0
Divide both sides by 8 and then you get: 3x^2+8x-1 =0
Then I make the coefficient of x^2 equal to 1, I divide both sides by 3, term by term.
Then I get x^2 + 8/3 - 1/3 = 0
This is where I get confused. I need help completing the square now. I know I square 1/2(8/3)^2 and that gives me a square and I add 16/9 to both sides.

Get 0 on one side: 3/8x^2 + x - 1/8 = 0
Divide both sides by 8 and then you get: 3x^2+8x-1 =0 *** Actually, you multiplied by 8, but good work.
------------------------------------
Then I make the coefficient of x^2 equal to 1, I divide both sides by 3, term by term.
Then I get x^2 + 8/3 - 1/3 = 0 *** 8x/3
This is where I get confused. I need help completing the square now. I know I square 1/2(8/3)^2 and thaat gives me a square and I add 16/9 to both sides.
-----------------
x^2 + 8x/3 - 1/3 = 0
x%5E2+%2B+%288%2F3%29x+=+1%2F3 Move the coefficient to the right side
Then add ((8/3)/2)^2 to both sides
x%5E2+%2B+%288%2F3%29x+%2B+16%2F9+=+1%2F3+%2B+16%2F9
%28x+%2B+8%2F3%29%5E2+=+25%2F9
Can you take it from there?

Linear-systems/293238: Graph the linear equation.
-4x - 36y = -36

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
-4x - 36y = -36
Make it easier, divide by -4
x + 9y = 4
------------
To graph it:
It's a straight line. All you need is 2 points.
Pick 2 values for x, and find y, or vice versa, or one of each.
-------------------------
Plot those 2 points.
Draw a line thru them.

A line and a point example.
Write in standard form the eqation of a line that satisfies the given conditions. Perpendicular to 9x+3y=36, through (1,2)
-----------------
Find the slope of the line. Do that by putting the equation in slope-intercept form, y = mx + b. That means solve for y.
9x+3y = 36
3y= - 9x + 36
y = -3x + 13
The slope, m = -3
------------------
The slope of lines parallel is the same.
The slope of lines perpendicular is the negative inverse, m = +1/3
----------------
Use y = mx + b and the point (1,2) to find b.
2 = (1/3)*1 + b
b = 5/3
The equation is y = (1/3)x + 5/3 (slope-intercept form)
x - 3y = -5 (standard form)

Given 2 points example.
Find the equation of the line thru the points (2,1) and (3,5)
---------------------
This is a 2 step process. First find the slope of the line thru the points.
slope, m = diffy/diffx
m = (5-1)/(3-2)
m = 4
---------
Now use y = mx + b with either point to find b, the y-intercept.
y = mx + b
5 = 4*3 + b
b = -7
-------
y = mx + b
y = 4x - 7 is the answer.
------------------------
Another approach using determinants:
|x y 1|
|2 1 1| = 0
|3 5 1|
--------
x(1-5) - y(2-3) + 1(10-3) = 0
-4x + y + 7 = 0
y = 4x - 7
---------

Not enough info (still).
Suppose the cylinder is 1 foot in diameter - the level would rise slightly.
Suppose the cylinder is 1 inch in diameter - it would rise 144 times as much.
