Linear-equations/400061: These are my questions, and thank you very much for your help.
1) What is the slope of a line that is parallel to the graph of (1/2)y = x+6
2) For what value(s) of r is 3r-6 = 7+3r?
3)16% of 980 is 9.8% of what number?
4)Solve x-2y = 12 if the domain is (-3, -1, 0, 2, 5)
5)What is the range of f(x)=[x-1]?
Here are my 5 questions...I'm sure at least some of them are easier than they look. But I'm not very good at math and my math book has a thing about wording problems weird and making them confusing, so...anyway, get back to me when you can. I really appreciate it.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
1) What is the slope of a line that is parallel to the graph of (1/2)y = x+6
y = 2x + 12
2
---------
2) For what value(s) of r is 3r-6 = 7+3r?
Subtract 3r
-6 = 7
No values.
---------------
3)16% of 980 is 9.8% of what number?
980*0.16 = 156.8
n = 156.8/0.098
n = 1600

Unique Triangles
Unique Triangles are Triangles that do not have
an equivalent. This means there is not another
triangle that has the exact dimensions or shape.

That sounds like all of them.

40 cents is the remaining 2/3 of the original price.
40 = (2/3)OP
20 = OP/3
OP = 60 cents

Linear_Equations_And_Systems_Word_Problems/399996: QUESTION: Does this make sense or does it not make sense?
Angles A and B are supplementary, so I modeled this condition using:
4x-2y+4=12x + 6y+12+180
Angle A: 4x-2y+4 Angle B: 12x+6y+12
>>>>ATTEMPTED SOLOUTION:
I attempted this problem knowing that supplementary angles add up to 180 degrees
This is my set up:
12x+6y+12
4x-2y+4 I divided the top equation by 6 and the bottom equation by 2 to bring it down to smaller
numbers. Resulting in the following equations
2x+y+2
2x-y+2
The "Y's" disappear leaving the equation 4x+4=180.....subtract 4 from both side of the equations 4x+176
divide by 4 on each side to isolate the variable which results in x=44
to check if the answer is correct I back substitute 44 for x in the reduced equation which resulted in
2*44 + y +2 which becomes 88 + y + 2 = 90 + y combine like terms by - y from right side equation and left side equation......move the combine 88 and 2 to = 90 resulting in 90 = 90.......which is true
since both of these equations add to 180.....I would say that this problem MAKES SENSE but the answer in the back of the book says it DOES NOT make sense............why doesn't it?

4x-2y+4=12x + 6y+12+180
Angle A: 4x-2y+4 Angle B: 12x+6y+12
-------------------
A + B = 180
4x-2y+4 + 12x+6y+12 = 180
16x + 4y + 16 = 180
4x + y = 41
Now there's one eqn with 2 variables.
No unique solution is possible.

----------------
The smaller angle = arctan(0.625/1.25) =~ 26.56º
The 3rd = 90 - 26.56 = 63.44º

a)A rectangle has an area given by A = x^2 + 5x + 6
Find an expression for the possible length of the rectangle.
-----------------
I think you're expected to factor, and say the factors are the possible lengths and widths.
x^2 + 5x + 6 = (x+2)*(x+3)
------------------
However, the length can be any value, and the width is (x^2 + 5x + 6)/length.
eg, L = 1, W = x^2 + 5x + 6
L = 2, W = (x^2 + 5x + 6)/2
L = 75, W = (x^2 + 5x + 6)/75
L = q, W = (x^2 + 5x + 6)/q
----------------------
Not a reasonable problem.
------------------
B) A rectangle has an area given by A = x^2 + 5x + 6
Find an expression for the possible width of the rectangle.

Leans has $31.05 in dimes and quaters. The number of dimes is one-fifth the number of quaters. How many of each does she have?
------------
q = # of quarters
d = # of dimes
----------
25q + 10d = 3105
q = 5d
Sub for q in the 1st eqn
25*5d + 10d = 3105
135d = 3105
d = 23
q = 115
