------------------
If no specific units are requested, for the perimeter you could answer
P = 4 meters and 4 inches.
It's better to pick units, tho.
1 inch = 2.54 cm exactly so I would use metric units.
P = 4 meters + 4*2.54 cm
= 400 cm + 10.16 cm
= 410.16 cm or 4.1016 meters
----------------
For the area, the units have to be the same.
2 inches = 5.08 cm = 0.0508 meters
Area = 2 meters * 0.0508 meters
= 0.1016 sq meters

Tracy needs to find the length of the equipment storage room where she works. The room is one meter longer than it is wide. Its perimeter is 14 meters.
-------------------
How would she know the perimeter if she doesn't know the length?
Ignoring that,
P = 2W + 2L = 14
W + L = 7
L = W + 1
Sub for L in the 1st eqn
W + L = 7
W + (W+1) = 7
2W + 1 = 7
2W = 6
W = 3
-------
L = 4

a) what does the number 2.78 represent
The price per gallon, $2.78
----------------
b) Find C(3)
Sub 3 for g
C(3) = 2.78*3 = $8.34 the cost of 3 gallons
c) find C(15)
C(15) = 2.78*15 = $41.70 the cost of 15 gallons
----------------------
Would I plug the two into C(2) = 2.78? C(2) = $5.36, the cost of 2 gallons.

A binomial doesn't have a slope.
Slope is the change of one variable compared to the other, usually y versus x. The binomial has only one variable.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
2L + 2W = 91
W = (L/2) + 5
Sub for W in the 1st eqn
2L + 2( (L/2 + 5) = 91
2L + L + 10 = 91
3L = 81
L = 27
W = 18.5

That's not possible, the sum has to an odd number.
75+76 = 151
76+77 = 153
---------------
75.5 + 76.5 = 152 but "consecutive" implies integers.

The exterior angles = 360/n
The interior = 180 - exterior

For the 20-gon:
Ext = 360/20 = 18 degs
Int = 180 - 18 = 162

How do u find in two sets of equations have points in common
2x^2+3y^2=19
x^2+y^2=9 --> y^2 = 9-x^2
sub for y^2 in the 1st eqn and solve for x
2x^2+3y^2=19
2x^2 + 3(9-x^2) = 19
-x^2 = -8
x = +/- sqrt(8)
The solutions are real numbers, so there are intersections.
Sub each value for x and find 2 values of y (in either equation).
4 intersections.

how do you solve (3+2i)+(5-6i)
You don't solve it. Equations are solved.
Just add them.
(3+2i)+(5-6i)
Add the 3 & 5 = 8
Add the 2i & -6i = -4i
--> 8-4i

Answer 311671 by Alan3354(30993) About Me  on 2011-05-24 18:41:44 (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website!
2b+5/2-3(b+2)=4
If you mean
(2b+5)/2 - 3(b+2)=4
2b+5 - 6(b+2) = 8
2b+5 - 6b - 12 = 8
-4b - 7 = 8
-4b = 15
b = -15/4

Linear-equations/453657: This question has a graph that goes with it. The readings are (3,0) and (0,-5). The question is about the equation for this problem. Laura's bike has 21 gears and the sum of the two gears used on her ride is always 24. Write an equation that represents the different pairings of gears that Laura uses.
