Complex_Numbers/477116: Hello. My question is i%5E-35. This is a tough one for me, because i^2 is -1. Then you could multiply -1 17 times, which is still -1. Then, you have an i left over, and all of this is over 1 I think because you are raising a negative exponent. So 1/-i? However, my calculator says that it is 5E-13+i. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This is not "solving", you don't solve for anything. It's simplification, or multiplication.

or y in terms of x:

f(?) + g(?) ??? you have to specify.
If it's of x, then just add them.
f(x) + g(x) = 2-2x + (-6x+2)
= -8x + 4

Quadratic_Equations/476832: 1. (30 points) In 1981, Vadimir Poliakov (USSR) set a world record of 19ft ¾ in for the pole vault (www.polevault.com). The t^2 term is negative, so it opens down.
--------------
His horizontal speed is not directly related to his vertical speed, or the height reached pole vaulting, tho. All this information is irrelevant.
The formula h = -16t^2 + 36t applies to projectiles, not to pole vaulters.

Then you should.
It's better for you if you do it, rather than get someone else to do it.
--------------
It will be either
(x + a)*(6x + b) or
(2x + a)*(3x + b).
---------------------
a & b will be either 1 & 21 or 3 & 7. The signs of a & b will be opposite.
Good luck.

Probability-and-statistics/476776: An often-quoted example of an event of extremely low
probability is that a monkey types Shakespeare’s entire
play Hamlet by randomly striking keys on a typewriter.
Assume that the typewriter has 48 keys (including the
space bar) and that the monkey is equally likely to hit
any key.
A. Find the probability that such a monkey will actually
correctly type just the title of the play as his first word.
B. What is the probability that the monkey will type the
phrase “To be or not to be” as his first words?
thankyou :)

The Sum of Two Numbers is 133.Four times the smaller of the two numbers equals three times the greater number.
I tried setting it up, but I am haveing a hard time.
4x=133-3x
If x is one number, 133-x is the other. You have to multiply 3 x (133-x)
------------
7x=133
x=19

19*4=76
76/3=25.33
19+25.33 doesn't= 133
----------------------------
4x = 3*(133-x) You subtracted 3x
4x = 399 - 3x
7x = 399
x = 57 is the smaller number
76 is the other number

If it's compounded monthly, the monthly interest rate = 0.05/12
-------------
2 = (1 + 0.05/12)^n (n = # of months)
log(2) = n*log(1 + 0.05/12)
n = log(2)/log(1 + 0.05/12)
n =~ 166.7 months
